You are on this page: Foster Club All-Star
Since 2004, Foster Club All-Star interns have been reaching out to other foster youth through conferences, training, and other events. Interns receive leadership training to improve outcomes for foster youth transitioning out of care. Interns educate peers and industry professionals in an effort to change public perceptions about foster youth across the nation.
Each year, two New York state individuals are selected to participate as Foster Club All-Star Interns. These young leaders will have the opportunity to attend one of two 6-week trainings that take place each year during the summer, with Foster Club All-Star.
The two 6-week trainings occur:
- Session A: Typically held June - July
- Session B: Typically held July - August
This training will be connected to advocacy opportunities. Interns may receive an allowance, $1000 bonus honorarium, cellphone and/or internet stipends and leadership training.
