The Division of Youth Development and Partnerships for Success focuses on older youth and young adults who are involved with or at risk of being involved with the child welfare and youth justice systems. This division oversees youth development initiatives including the following:
- Runaway and homeless youth
- OCFS’s Youth Advisory Board
- Educational and vocational advocacy
- Detention programs
- Close to Home
- Human trafficking
- LGBTQ issues
The division will focus on interagency partnerships for youth justice and advocacy with the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services including the Youth Justice Institute, the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, the Office of Mental Health, the Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services, the State Education Department, the Department of Labor and the Office of Court Administration. This division works in close coordination with OCFS’s Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth and the agency’s Division of Child Welfare and Community Services.
