Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has proclaimed Friday, May 12 as Provider Appreciation Day in New York State as a way to thank child care providers, teachers, school-age program staff, child care center directors and staff, and all of those who work with children and are responsible for their education and care. The Governor recognizes and values the work of child care providers – not just on this day, but every day. Please join Governor Cuomo and the Office of Children and Family Services in thanking the dedicated child care providers and educators in New York for their hard work and commitment to New York State’s most precious investment ... our children.

National Child Care Provider Appreciation Day is celebrated annually on the Friday before Mother’’s Day to recognize and thank child care providers across the nation for the extraordinary work they do. This year, National Child Care Provider Appreciation Day will be celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2017. The New York State Office of Children and Family Services would like to take this opportunity to recognize and express gratitude to child care providers, teachers, school-age program staff, and all those who work and are responsible for the education and care of the children of New York State. By providing our children with a solid foundation that includes safe and healthy learning environments, and by supporting them as they learn and grow, we increase their opportunities for success.
