Standards for Meals and Snacks Provided to Children in Child Care

Child care centers and school age child care programs are required to meet specific standards for meals and snacks provided to children in care. These are new standards and apply only to child day care centers and school age child care programs licensed or registered by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). To help you get started, OCFS and the New York State Department of Health’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) developed the Nutrition Standards Toolkit. The toolkit can be accessed at: Toolkits and online training for DCC and SACC compliance with USDA Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP) standards and can be referenced while participating in the on-line training (links below) which covers nutritional standards that meet day care regulations.  Training credits will be awarded to all participants.
