New York State participates in the National Fingerprint File. States seeking New York State criminal history information on individuals who resided in New York State in the past five years will satisfy this requirement through the submission of FBI fingerprints. No additional check is required against New York State’s criminal history repository.
States seeking New York State Sex Offender Registry information for individuals who resided in New York State in the past five years may request this information by calling the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services at 800-262-3257, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding legal holidays). To learn if an individual is on the registry, callers must have the individual's name and one of the following: an exact address, date of birth, driver's license number or Social Security number.

States seeking New York Statewide Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) information for individuals who resided in New York State in the past five years may request this information by completing the following documentation. Please note that this document must be notarized and mailed to the SCR.
