You are on this page: Child Photolisting Disclaimer
Thank you for considering New York State's waiting children. All the children in the photolisting are legally freed for adoption. Each child’s narrative will introduce you to the child while respecting the child’s right to privacy. The narrative is not intended to provide a detailed description of the child’s history or current needs. When it is determined to be in the child’s best interest, the agency contact will share more detailed information about the child with those who may be able to provide a permanent connection and/or adoptive home for the child.
You will find the name and phone number of the child's agency contact in the child's summary. It is helpful to provide the child's photo listing ID when speaking with an agency contact. Families can obtain the contact information by emailing the New York State Adoption Services office. You may also view waiting children in the Heart Gallery New York.
When requesting more information on a child, please be aware that you may not be given any identifying information until the agency has received a copy of your home study and has determined your family is a potential match for the child.
New York State residents wishing to begin the home study process should refer to the New York State Adoption Process. You may also contact your local social services district.
Out-of-state residents who are not approved as an adoptive family should consult with their state's adoption agency. If your family is approved as an adoptive family, refer to the information on the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC).
