Third Annual Foster Care Awareness Walk Draws Crowd

Commissioner Carrión joins Albany County officials in cutting the ribbon to start the Third Annual Foster Care Awareness Walk held at The Crossings of Colonie.

 

Commissioner Carrión joined walkers from around the Capital District to focus attention on children in foster care and the need for foster and adoptive families. A large crowd turned out for the walk which was sponsored by Albany County Department for Children, Youth & Families and supported by OCFS, departments of social services in Rensselaer and Schenectady counties, the Capital District Heart Gallery, other nonprofit agencies and local businesses.  The event concluded with food, music, and games.
