National Center for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice, which promotes awareness of the mental health needs of youth in contact with the juvenile justice system, has developed a new interactive campaign, Mistakes Kids Make, to increase awareness that kids should be allowed to learn from their mistakes but not have them define who they become.  Watch this informational video and visit for more information.

The National Research Council has issued a report, Reforming Juvenile Justice: A Developmental Approach.  The report makes recommendations for handling juvenile offenders using an evidence-based, developmentally informed approach.  This briefing paper outlines the practitioner highlights of the report and provides an overall summary of its recommendations.
