Governor Cuomo Proclaims May 8 as "Provider Appreciation Day"
Dear Child Care Provider:
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has proclaimed Friday, May 8 as Provider Appreciation Day in New York State as a way to thank child care providers, teachers, school-age program staff, child care center directors and staff, and all of those who work with children and are responsible for their education and care.
The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your dedication to the well-being of the children in your care. As we all know, caring for young children is more than a job -- it is a profession that helps to lay the foundation for success in school, at home, and in their communities. Through your efforts and devotion, young children are kept safe, secure, healthy, and happy.
We recognize that their future depends on the high quality of care and important early childhood experiences you provide. Thank you for your work in giving children the care and nurturing they deserve during what we believe is the most critical developmental period in a child’s life.
Thank you for being someone who parents in New York State can trust to take care of their precious little ones.
