Duties
Monitor, provide oversight and technical assistance to local social service district and county youth bureaus for compliance with State and Federal guidelines. Assist in the development, implementation and administration of New York State services to children, adults and families. Assist local governments and community-based organizations in the development and delivery of service to youth and communities. Assist in periodic on-site visits to determine compliance with OCFS program and fiscal guidelines, including safety and health requirements for Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs. Assist in individualized training and technical assistance that includes youth development, program and community planning, fiscal/contract management and staff development. Assist OYD with State Aid projects for a wide variety of initiatives funded by OCFS as well as other state agencies Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview. Minimum Qualifications
Reachable on Civil Service Eligible List for Children and Family Services Specialist 1 MG OR One year of permanent competitive service as a Children and Family Services Specialist 1 MG or eligible for a 70.1 transfer.* *70.1 Transfer Eligibility: One year of experience in a public, private, not-for-profit or community organization, the mission of which was the advocacy for public assistance recipients of diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds OR 24 semester credit hours in the study of people of diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds is required for transfer into this title. Note: If you are reachable on the Children and Family Services Specialist 1 MG list, you will receive a canvass letter.
