Under direction of the Director of Crossover Initiatives, this position will be responsible for developing, implementing and assessing the impact of practice and policy initiatives. The specific areas of focus are youth in detention on a PINS or JD matter, youth placed in local social service district custody on a PINS or delinquency, or youth who are returning to the community after placement with a local social service district. Understanding of risk assessment tools and best-practices in adolescent residential care is a plus. The position will need to analyze and interpret data, programs and policy to make recommendations and develop work plans for cross-organizational projects. Additionally, this position will address the particular needs and challenges of adolescents in care by strengthening services to youth in foster care and providing them with skills based training and leadership development opportunities to help them make a successful transition to self-sufficiency. Will work to provide adults that work with New York State youth in care with the training, knowledge, support and job aids necessary and to provide youth with a voice and a role in their care and development services, training and opportunities to develop critical life skills, and the knowledge of access to the educational and vocational training resources available to them. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in research, planning, program analysis or evaluation relating to human services or criminal or juvenile justice. Master’s degree is equivalent to one year experience.
