Duties
As a Nurse 1, on an assigned shift, under the supervision of a higher-level nurse or licensed medical professional, a Nurse 1 provides nursing care within established guidelines and procedures to individuals with conditions and treatments that are non-critical. This can include: Conducting health assessments; diagnosing and treating an individual’s response to actual, potential, or diagnosed health problems through the provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being; and executing medical regimens prescribed by a licensed health care provider. Participating in staff training, preparing clinical and administrative reports, maintaining infection control standards, and functioning as a member of a treatment team. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State.

Background Investigation/Justice Center Review
Prospective appointees will be
- checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable;
- investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC). All convictions must be reported. Conviction of a felony or misdemeanor or any falsified or omitted information may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment. Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with the applicable provisions of state and federal laws; Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information, and may be required to pay any necessary fees; and
- screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees may be required to pay any necessary fees. Additionally, prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
