The OCFS Bureau of Juvenile Detention Services certifies, oversees and monitors the secure and non-secure detention programs in New York State. The bureau works closely with the detention programs to ensure they remain in compliance with Title 9 of the New York Codes Rules and Regulations, Part 180.9CRR, Juvenile Detention Facilities Regulations. Detention programs are located throughout New York State. They provide supervision and care while maintaining custody of youth ages 10 through 18 prior to adjudication or other disposition by family and/or criminal courts.
