Duties
Under the direction of senior research scientist staff, conduct program evaluation and policy relevant research, primarily in the areas of child welfare and juvenile justice. Duties include formulation of policy/program relevant research questions, development and implementation of evaluation and research designs, creation of data collection tools and instruments, database management, multivariate data analysis, and dissemination of research findings through the authorship of technical reports and presentations. Completion of data analysis tasks requires use of SPSS and other software packages to extract, merge, manage, and analyze large scale administrative databases and project specific data files. With guidance from senior research staff, researcher will use advanced, multivariate statistical methods to assess relations among variables and program impacts and use findings to formulate policy and program recommendations. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree and three years of professional research experience in child welfare, criminal justice, psychology, social work, sociology, or other related field OR A Master’s Degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work, sociology or other related field, and two years of such experience OR A doctorate in criminal justice, psychology, social work, sociology, or other related field Experience with statistical analysis packages (like SPSS) and experience writing code is strongly preferred.
