Desktop PC Replacement - Workaround for Schedule and Address Book Import

If one of your users reports that they received a Translation Error message box when trying to import their Schedule+ Calendar into their Outlook 2000 Calendar and/or import their Personal Address Book into their Outlook 2000 Contact list, you must temporarily provide them with Power User status until they are able to successfully complete those operations.

Procedure

  1. Log onto the user's workstation.
  2. Right click on My Computer Icon and select Manage.
  3. Double click on Local Users and Groups in the left panel.
  4. Double click on Groups now listed under Local Users and Groups.
  5. Double click on Power Users in the right panel.
  6. Click on the Add button.
  7. Select the NYSDSSALB or NYSDSSNYC as appropriate for the user in question in the Look in drop down selection.
  8. Scroll down the list and click on the user's Name (Userid) for the current workstation and click on the Add button.
  9. Click on the OK button and then click on the OK button on the Power Users Properties dialog box.
  10. Log off the workstation.

User

The User can then log back onto their workstation and perform the import procedures as stated in the following:

Once the user reports that they have successfully completed the import of their Schedule+ Calendar into their Outlook 2000 Calendar and/or their Personal Address Book into their Outlook 2000 Contact list, you must remove their Power User status.

Procedure

  1. Log onto the user's workstation.
  2. Right click on My Computer Icon and select Manage.
  3. Double click on Local Users and Groups in the left panel.
  4. Double click on Groups now listed under Local Users and Groups.
  5. Double click on Power Users in the right panel.
  6. Click on the applicable user's name (Userid) in the Members list.
  7. Click on the Remove button.
  8. Click on the OK button and then click on the OK button on the Power Users Properties dialog box.
  9. Log off the workstation
